Hobby Video 2

In this second hobby video I learned a lot about the six shot system. I learned which shots work best when trying to move a person from one location to another. I also learned how to create a smooth video by editing the footage to start and stop at the correct time so it doesn’t look choppy. On my next project I will take even more footage just so I can have more options to choose from and put in my video to make it better quality. I will also storyboard better next time so we can spend more time filming. Collaboration means being able to get along and work with a partner or group. I applied this to my project because you had to be able to clearly communicate and work with your partner in order to get the shots done correctly. Also you had to have patience when you occasionally had to do shots multiple times.

Hobby Video #1

While making this Hobby Video we learned about the 6 Shot System. The 6 Shot System is made up of six different angles that you can film from. The shots are:
extra close up: shows only a single thing in the shot like hands typing on a keyboard close up: would just be of someone’s face
over the shoulder: shows what the person is doing
medium shot: shows the person from the hips up
wide shot: shows what the person is doing but not the entire scene
extra wide shot: lets you see the entire scene

I learned out to shoot the camera from different angles and also how to create a storyboard and follow it. I learned more about how to use the tools in Final Cut Pro like the blade tool and detaching the audio. Next time I do a project like this I would take even more footage so that when I upload it into final cut pro I have more options.

Highlight Video

For our first project in video, we were assigned to create a highlight video of a hobby or interest that we have. I chose to create mine based on mission trips. While using Final Cut Pro for the first time I learned how to import video clips, start and pause my video using the space bar and also how to add them to my favorites by hitting the 'f' key. I also learned how to drag the video clips into my timeline, detach the audio and add music and transitions. I chose to base my video on mission trips because they are something that makes me smile, and also because I will be leaving on March 15th to travel to Belize for mission work. I love being able to help those who weren’t born in a first world country and who aren’t as fortunate as the people who live in the United States.

Finished Website!

In this project we were assigned to create a website using Adobe Dreamweaver. We started off just typing the content but then started to add things like color schemes, pictures and links. I learned that I enjoy web design and that there are many different parts to creating a website. I learned how to pace myself so that I met the deadline of this project. If I did this project again I would pay more attention to the color scheme that I was using and make sure it all matched up. I will take the knowledge that I now have about web design and use it to create a better looking website the next time. The instructions for this project were very well written and easy to follow which made this project really enjoyable.

Final House Animation

The scope of this project was to create a dream home using Google Sketch Up. The home had to include a roof and other details on it. The process to complete this project was to get familiar with the program by creating a chair first then to start creating a house. Along the way, I learned how to use Sketch Up and that animation wasn't just movies but also things like houses. I also learned how to ask others for help of I was unsure of how to make a certain aspect of the house. If i did this project again I would go back and fix my driveway and grass to make sure they were closer together. The driveway distracts from the house. I would keep the front of my house the same because that is my favorite part of the house and shows my style. This project will help me in the future to take more time on the smaller details. I enjoyed this project after I learned how to use the program.

Finished Animation

In my finished Keynote Animation I created a story about a boy who is walking and it starts to rain. He grabs his umbrella but his umbrella gives him lots of trouble and eventually sends him up into the clouds. After a short amount of time he falls through a cloud and is set back to the ground. He then gets rid of the umbrella and it floats back up to the sky again. This animation was fun to make and see how it developed from Keynote to iMovie.

Rainy Day Animation

My animation is about a boy who is walking down the street when it starts to rain. He grabs his umbrella but the umbrella seems to have a mind of its own and takes him up to the clouds. He makes it back down to the ground safely at the end. I used the shape tools in Keynote to create the graphics and then played abound with the transitions to make it come to life. When people watched my animation they enjoyed the storyline and the overall look of it. They suggested that I use transitions and work on the rain which I fixed to make it look better.
