In this project we were assigned to create a website using Adobe Dreamweaver. We started off just typing the content but then started to add things like color schemes, pictures and links. I learned that I enjoy web design and that there are many different parts to creating a website. I learned how to pace myself so that I met the deadline of this project. If I did this project again I would pay more attention to the color scheme that I was using and make sure it all matched up. I will take the knowledge that I now have about web design and use it to create a better looking website the next time. The instructions for this project were very well written and easy to follow which made this project really enjoyable.

Rainy Day Animation
My animation is about a boy who is walking down the street when it starts to rain. He grabs his umbrella but the umbrella seems to have a mind of its own and takes him up to the clouds. He makes it back down to the ground safely at the end. I used the shape tools in Keynote to create the graphics and then played abound with the transitions to make it come to life. When people watched my animation they enjoyed the storyline and the overall look of it. They suggested that I use transitions and work on the rain which I fixed to make it look better.

For the butterfly project the goal was to create a bright and symmetric butterfly that had the effect of fluttering it's wings. In order to make the flying effect we used the clone tool and moved it down the sides of the wings a couple times. When changing the colors of the wings we changed the hue and saturation slider. At first my biggest challenge was using the clone tool but after getting the hang of it, it was easier. I would change a couple of the colors on the wings if I ever did this project again.

My Name Logo
In this project we were assigned to create a logo that resembled our personalities. We started by learning about the meaning of different shapes, fonts and colors then sketched rough drafts on a piece of paper. Once we had a general idea of what we wanted, we opened up illustrator to make our logos come to life. Tools we used were the shape tool, a variety of fonts and different colors.
A difficult part of this assignment was trying to decide what fonts I wanted to represent my personality. Also trying to get all my initials to line up with each other. I addressed these by finding colors that represented my personality like purple and gold. Purple is very girly and the color of royalty so gold went very well with purple. Next time I would try to download new fonts if possible and make the outside stroke thicker.Friday, September 5, 2014
Why Color Matters!
When designing logos or advertisements for a company a huge aspect to the design is the color. Many companies choose the color to relate to what they're selling or organizing. Many restaurants that serve hot food will opt with a warm color like red, yellow or orange. Companies that work with the environment tend to use blue and greens.
Red- energy, love, health, anger
Green- balanced, growth, environment, envy
Blue- trust, peace, loyalty, technology
Black- hidden, mystery, spooky, unknown
White- pure, innocent, whole, perfection
Purple- imagination, creativity, immature, individual
Yellow- optimistic, cheerful, coward, intelligence
Orange- positive, enthusiastic, adventure, warm
Brown- friendly, serious, dirt, comfort
